What should I bring?
- First and foremost, please bring your common sense and manners! Bring your open mind and passion for sharing and learning! We look forward to sharing with you and being inspired! Bring your toys, your knowledge, your questions, your thirst for learning more!
What is Poi?
- Poi refers to both a style of performing art and the equipment used for engaging in poi performance. As a performance art, poi involves swinging tethered weights through a variety of rhythmical and geometric patterns. Poi artists may also sing or dance while swinging their poi.
Will I work with FIRE?
- If you have experience or have learned the safety and techniques and are ready, Yes, you will work with fire!
What if I am not ready to work with fire?
- You don't need to work with fire to be part of the Detroit Fire Collective. You can also use non-fire props and LED lights. Maybe you are inspired by other circus disciplines, bring it!
Can I book the Detroit Fire Collective?
- No, the Detroit Fire Collective is a collective, not a performance group. However, many of the members of the collective do performance. Feel free to ask them directly during practice for their contact info or visit the performers page to see a current list. If you wish to be placed on the list, please send your info to us at info@detroitfirecollective.com
